January 9th, 2022 was remembered for an all-time final game of the biggest regular-season ever as the Raiders kicked a GW-FG as time expired in OT to knock off the Chargers and get the Steelers in the Playoffs who had barely beaten the Lamar-less Ravens earlier in the day with TJ Watt tying Michael Strahan’s season SK record (in only 15 GP). The 49ers pulled off an epic 17-point comeback against the Rams to clinch the final NFC Playoff spot. Amon-Ra St. Brown & Davante Adams set records but Green Bay fell to Detroit in a meaningless game.

Jaylen Waddle set the rookie REC record while the Jaguars clinched the No.1 overall pick in back-to-back years despite demolishing the Indianapolis Colts in the most surprising outcome of the week (maybe season). Tom Brady finished his second season in Tampa with a number of franchise records, Ja’Marr Chase’s historic rookie season continued, and Justin Jefferson set the bar for Chase and all WRs after their first two seasons. Klay Thompson also made his long-anticipated return after suffering a torn ACL & torn Achilles in 2019-20.

See what happened in sports on January 9th last year, headlined by a triple-header of NFL Wild Card games for the first time ever and the Nationals signing OF Kyle Schwarber in free agency, as well as what happened in sports on January 9th, 2020 ft. Russell Westbrook‘s first return to OKC since his trade to Houston with a memorable tribute that was spoiled by CP3 embarrassing his former Houston team.
