The Guardians and the Rays had the fastest MLB playoff game since 1999, with Cleveland’s 2-1 win clocking in at just two hours and 17 minutes while the Mariners won their first playoff game in 20 years (4-0 @ TOR).

1989: Oakland Athletics OF Rickey Henderson recorded his 8th stolen base over a 5-game playoff series victory over the Toronto Blue Jays, setting an MLB playoff record

1984: With 154 rushing yards against the New Orleans Saints, Chicago Bears RB Walter Payton surpassed Jim Brown as the NFL’s all-time leading rusher and also set a new record with his 59th career 100-yard game. Emmitt Smith has since surpassed Payton

1964: New York Yankees made their 14th World Series appearance over the last 16 seasons, their 29th of 61 total

1952: Defeating the Brooklyn Dodgers in 7 games, the New York Yankees tied their own MLB record with their 4th consecutive World Series Championship

1933: New York Giants OF Mel Ott hit a GW-HR in the top of the 10th inning of World Series Game 5 to defeat the Washington Senators, DC’s last World Series appearance until 2019
