October 7, 2022 in sports was highlighted by the kickoff of the MLB Playoffs with the Phillies’ 9th inning comeback vs. STL headlining the MLB Wild Card Game 1’s. Philadelphia was down 2-0 in the 9th inning before going on to win 6-3. Max Scherzer had the worst performance in Mets playoff history, allowing seven runs in a loss to the Padres. The Guardians and the Rays had the fastest MLB playoff game since 1999, with Cleveland’s 2-1 win clocking in at just two hours and 17 minutes while the Mariners won their first playoff game in 20 years (4-0 @ TOR).
