The Miami Dolphins completed the only perfect season in NFL history on January 14, 1973 exactly 50 years ago so it’s a great time to look at the top 5 greatest Dolphins players of all time with some of those players cracking the list.



The Miami Dolphins are a professional American football team based in South Florida area. The team was founded by Joe Robbie and began play in the American Football League (AFL) in 1966. The Dolphins joined the National Football League (NFL) as part of the AFL-NFL merger in 1970. The team has had a storied history, with many great players and coaches contributing to the team’s success over the years.

One of the most notable aspects of the Dolphins organization is their commitment to excellence. This is evident in the team’s numerous playoff appearances and two Super Bowl victories, including the only perfect NFL season ever. The Dolphins have had crucial moments in NFL history, between going undefeated, the Miami Miracle, or winning back-to-back Super Bowls. With amazing talent consisting of the players below, it goes to show how incredible this franchise’s past has been.

The Dolphins play in Hard Rock Stadium, located in the upper suburbs of Miami Gardens, Florida. Miami has 17 players and coaches that are in the Football Hall of Fame, and every single one deserves credit for the success of the franchise. Playing in the AFC East division, the Dolphins have to battle against the New York Jets, New England Patriots, and the Buffalo Bills twice a year.

Rocking their aqua, orange, white, and marine blue uniforms, the Dolphins have a great deal of history to live up to. From going undefeated to being a part of the most-watched NFL play ever, the Dolphins are incredible. As a great franchise with an even better past, the Dolphins have been doing it right for years. Honorable mention includes: OT Richmond Webb, FB Larry Csonka, S Jake Scott, ED Cameron Wake, and C Jim Langer. Dolphins fans are hoping QB Tua Tagovailoa, WR Jaylen Waddle, or CB Xavien Howard join this list one day as well.

One of the greatest pure passers of all time, Dan Marino had spectacular timing and cut up defenses like it was nothing. Marino gets doubted due to his lack of a Super Bowl championship but his talent and arm strength were unparalleled until after his career concluded in the 21st century.

Dominating in the run game, Larry Little bowled over any defender that was in his way to create holes for his Running Backs. Little was an outstanding guardian for his quarterback or anyone running behind him.
