After Julio Jones signed a one-year deal to team up with Tom Brady and the Buccaneers, there’s no better time to look at all of the historic accomplishments and greatest records he already owns.

Taken out of Alabama with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2011 draft by Atlanta, Julio Jones had hefty expectations placed on him from the moment he stepped into the NFL. Paired with established Falcons QB Matt Ryan, the 6’3″, 220-pound WR immediately made a splash his rookie year by posting 959 yards and eight touchdowns, which would serve as an appetizer for what was to come. The Alabama native broke out during Year 2, and began one of the greatest stretch of seasons by a wide receiver ever en route to solidify his status as an all-time great.

From 2014-19, Julio eclipsed 1,300 yards each season while posting historically consistent week-by-week production. He would peak in 2015, leading the NFL in receptions and yards at age 26, using his massive frame and ball skills to dominate defenses. ATL peaked in 2016, where he helped Matt Ryan secure his first MVP award as they led an electric offense to the Super Bowl. Julio made one of the greatest catches in NFL history that appeared to seal a Championship before a flurry of Falcons mishaps allowed NE to complete their famous 28-3 comeback.

Jones finished out his Falcons tenure in 2020 when he was traded to Tennessee for an uneventful season before signing with Tampa Bay. Born and raised in Foley, Alabama on his way to playing for the legendary Alabama football program, he would make the transition to Atlanta with ease. Although much was expected of the 6’3″ Foley product, he would far surpass anyone’s hopes through an elite combination of route running, ball skills, athleticism, and historic consistency to help shatter NFL records and become one of the greatest Wide Receivers ever.
