Here is the best from August 31, 2019:

On one of the busiest days for NFL headlines, the Houston Texans dominated the day with their blockbuster trades involving EDGE Jadeveon Clowney & OT Laremy Tunsil.

A year after the New York Yankees set the all-time season HR record, the Minnesota Twins top it, and have an entire month to extend the new record.

LeSean McCoy is one of the best RB of the 2010’s, and has probably clinched a spot on the all-2010’s roster. This is largely due to his 4 Pro Bowl seasons in Philadelphia under Andy Reid. He’ll finish the decade playing for the same coach that drafted him, but this time they aspire to earn their first Super Bowl in Kansas City.

New York Yankees rally back to earn their first win against Oakland this season, previously 0-4. It’s crazy to think they have the best record in the MLB despite the most players on the IL in a season ever.

The NBA broke down the best plays of the season this week. The first tweet is a thread of the entire top-50 list.

Mike Trout is the best baseball player of this generation. Anyone that disagrees with that statement isn’t an intelligent baseball fan. He adds another accolade to his career achievements as the youngest player ever in the 200 HR/200 SB club. His teammate Albert Pujols also joined an exclusive club himself.

While many trades, releases, and IR placements were going on, the Jacksonville Jaguars signed their star LB to a long-term extension to continue anchoring the defense.

While trying to track down a warning track bomb, Naquin inadvertently tore his ACL making the grab. Cleveland will be without their starting LF for at least the remainder of the 2019 season.

Notable college arms Justin Fields & Jacob Eason made their debut on Saturday with their new CFB teams. Both former 5-star prospects originally committed to Georgia, but each transferred after losing the starting QB job to Jake Fromm, another QB draft prospect in his own right. They’re now running the show for premiere CFB programs elsewhere and are back in the spotlight for NFL draft scouts.
