1984: San Diego Clippers announced their agreement on a 10-year lease to play in Los Angeles, making their rumored move official

1981: Cleveland Indians SP Len Barker tossed the 10th Perfect Game in MLB history during a 3-0 win against the Toronto Blue Jays. He struck out 11 and never reached a 3-ball count throughout the entire game

1973: California Angels SP Nolan Ryan pitched the very 1st no-hitter of his illustrious career; he would go on to pitch 6 more career no-hitters, which still stands as the MLB record (7)

1918: Washington Senators SP Walter Johnson and Chicago White Sox SP Lefty Williams were dueling with 17-inning Complete Game Shutouts until the Senators scored the game-winning run in the 18th where Johnson tied the MLB record for the longest (18 IP) CG-SHO in MLB history
