1989: 7 years after winning the AL MVP as a SS, Milwaukee Brewers OF Robin Yount was named AL MVP for the 2nd time as the only player with multiple MVPs in Brewers history to this day

1977: Chicago Bears RB Walter Payton broke O.J. Simpson’s NFL single-game record at the time by racking up 275 RUSH YDS against the Vikings which lasted until 2000 Corey Dillon (278)

1962: New York Yankees OF Mickey Mantle was named AL MVP for the 3rd time in his career, the t-most in Yankees franchise history with Joe DiMaggio, Yogi Berra, and Alex Rodriguez
